Your gift makes a direct impact on the lives of men, women and children facing homelessness or who are on the way to permanent housing. Contributions small and large are valued and critical to meeting client needs, improving or expanding services and providing safe shelter 365 days a year.
Tribute and Memorial Gifts
A tribute or memorial gift is a wonderful way to honor or remember family, friends and colleagues. Lynn Shelter Association will prepare an acknowledgment note and deliver it to the recipient you request. You will also receive an acknowledgement. Tribute gifts can be given in honor of individuals and are a wonderful way to celebrate holidays, birthdays, anniversaries and milestones. We ask for a minimum tribute or memorial gift of $25.
Matching Employer Gifts
Does your employer offer matching gifts? If you’re unsure, inquire with your Human Resources Department and learn how you can double the impact of your donation. Please mail your gift with the matching gift form to the Development Office address listed below.
Investing in the future of Lynn Shelter Association is an excellent way to shape your legacy and even modest giving can make a real difference. Gift planning allows supporters to make charitable gifts now or after your lifetime while enjoying the financial benefits.
Planned gifts are thoughtful because they require planning and, often, professional advising. Unlike cash donations, planned gifts are typically made from assets you have acquired rather than disposable income. The most common planned gift is a bequest in your will or living trust. Other planned gifts include:

- A remainder interest in your home
Giving Stocks in Certificate Form
Mail your unendorsed certificate(s) to the Lynn Shelter Association Development Office with a letter stating the stock name, number of shares and your intention to donate them. In a second envelope, send a copy of your letter with a signed Stock Power form for each stock. Leave all other sections of the Stock Power form blank. Mail these items separately from the certificates to the address below.

Cummings Foundation $100K for 100 Grants Program
Lynn Shelter Association was the proud recipient of a Cummings Foundation $100K for $100 grant awarded in 2015. The Cummings Foundation grant has allowed Lynn Shelter Association to operate its emergency shelter 24/7 during the winter months so people in Lynn experiencing homelessness can remain warm and dry with access to a continuum of care that leads people from homelessness to housing.
To date, Cummings Foundation has awarded more than $100 million to a diverse group of local nonprofits, and Lynn Shelter Association is honored to be a 2015 beneficiary. Pictured above is Alison Brookes, LSA Board President, accepting the LSA award from Bill Cummings at the 2015 reception.
Through its annual $100K for 100 grants program, Cummings Foundation awards 100 grants of $100,000 each to nonprofits in Middlesex, Essex and Suffolk counties.
